ESPN is actively seeking top-tier NBA minds to strengthen its growing analytical panel. With a major NBA media deal in place, the network aims to expand its programming and elevate its coverage with bigger names.

ESPN’s NBA Producer Tim Corrigan has expressed his desire to add LeBron James and Steph Curry in their wings after their plausible retirement from the game. He emphasized that ESPN will make every effort to recruit such brilliant minds to bring deeper tactical insight to its shows.

Tim Corrigan in a chat with The Athletic said, “You talk about those two guys [James and Curry], besides their insane physical gifts and talents and all the work they’ve done, their basketball minds, we would all benefit from more exposure to that, right?

He added, “There’s so many stories about LeBron knowing the call the other team’s making and telling his guys on the court. ‘Here’s what they’re going to do’ based on who’s coming on the court. We would all benefit from that in live events and things like that.”

Veteran Insights Could Reshape NBA analysis

LeBron James has already proven his time on the screen breaking down games and its analytical side of things. His ‘Mind the Game’ podcast has millions of followers on YouTube and other mediums. LeBron often brings guests from the leagues such as coaches, players, recruiters to share the insider’s perspective of the game.

With retirement looming closer than ever, the 40-year-old could use his experience to give the fans a more tactical analysis of the game. The current NBA broadcast landscape lacks depth, and basketball minds like LeBron James and Steph Curry could elevate the quality significantly.

However, Curry is not much of a chatter, and it remains to be seen if he would accept a broadcast career option post retirement. The Golden State Warriors loyalist has a different personality altogether from his Lakers counterpart. Steph Curry prefers a low profile and is rarely seen outside of family engagements.
