NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Wednesday’s session.
The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 3.80%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.40%), MOIL Ltd.(up 1.19%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.48%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.33%) stood among the top gainers.
Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 7.28%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 4.77%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 3.43%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 2.32%), NMDC Ltd.(down 2.19%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.89%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 1.51%) and Coal India Ltd.(down 1.50%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 118.96 points up at 22123.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 526.01 points at 72996.31.
Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 3.56%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.26%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 2.13%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.66%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.64%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.43%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.25%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.19%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.08%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 0.99%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UPL Ltd.(down 2.13%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 2.12%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.94%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.58%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.5%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.48%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.46%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.44%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.42%) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.03%) closed in the red.
