The stock market on Monday picked up right where it left off the prior week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 210 points, or 0.5%. The S&P 500 was up 0.7%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 1.0%.
“The government remains shut down this morning as the stalemate between the two parties nears the start of its fourth week,” wrote Bespoke Investment Group co-founder Paul Hickey. “As has been the case nearly the entire time, though, the markets seem indifferent.”
