Stock futures were mostly lower early Thursday as markets looked beyond the end of the U.S. government shutdown and weighed up the chances of another rate cut in 2025.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 10 points or less than 0.1%. S&P 500 futures were falling 0.2% and Nasdaq 100 futures were also down 0.2%.

The Dow finished 327 points higher at 48,254.82, its 17th record closing high of the year. That came as the Republican-led House passed a spending package reopening the government, which President Trump signed into law late Wednesday, drawing to a close a record 43-day U.S. government shutdown.
