The Morning Bull – US Market Morning Update Thursday, Feb, 12 2026

US stock futures are pointing higher this morning, with E-mini S&P 500 contracts up about 0.2%, as investors digest a stronger than expected jobs report and a move higher in bond yields. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 130,000 in January and the unemployment rate eased to 4.3%, which keeps the Federal Reserve on hold for now and has markets looking to July, not June, for the first rate cut. Wages grew 0.4% in the month and 3.7% over the year, meaning pay packets are still rising at a solid clip. That mix puts interest rate sensitive areas such as banks and real estate, along with growth focused technology names, firmly in the spotlight as investors weigh whether a still firm job market and higher yields help financials more than they hurt rate dependent borrowers and high growth sectors.
