Stock Market LIVE Updates | Nifty At The Cusp Of New Records But 22,700 Remains A Hurdle
The market is taking a pause. Now whether that pause is a sign of exhaustion at higher levels or just another breather before the uptrend resumes again is subjective. The Nifty is swiftly marching towards 23,000 having swiftly crossed 22,500 and 22,600 over the last two weeks. At the current juncture, 22,700 is proving to be a barrier for the index.
Tuesday saw the Nifty make another attempt at sustaining above 22,700 but failed to do so for the second straight day. Eventually, it ended 125 points off the highest point of the day. That level of 22,768 now becomes an important level to watch on the upside for the Nifty. Reliance Industries, which ensured that the Nifty ended at record highs on Monday, was the biggest contributor to the index downside on Tuesday.
