NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Thursday’s session.
Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 4.72%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.89%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.50%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.50%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.20%) stood among the top gainers.
Coal India Ltd.(down 3.23%), NMDC Ltd.(down 2.19%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 1.96%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.64%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 1.06%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.57%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.49%) and MOIL Ltd.(down 0.35%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 152.06 points down at 21995.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 454.69 points at 72488.99.
Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 4.06%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.14%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.15%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.74%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 0.65%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.34%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 0.22%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 4.12%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 3.32%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 3.29%), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.23%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 3.18%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.81%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 2.66%), NTPC Ltd.(down 2.26%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.17%) and Cipla Ltd.(down 2.03%) closed in the red.
