STAMFORD, Conn. – 2003 U.S. Open champion and 2027 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk has joined USA Sports as an analyst for select men’s majors and PGA TOUR events on Golf Channel and USA Network for the remainder of the 2026 season, beginning with next week’s 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.
Furyk will open USA Network’s 11-hour block of U.S. Open coverage on Thursday, June 18, which begins at 6 a.m. ET, and will contribute to USA Network’s Thursday afternoon and weekend telecasts. Furyk’s major championship broadcast schedule continues with USA Network’s coverage of the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club (July 16-19).
A 17-time PGA TOUR winner, Furyk will also be an analyst for Golf Channel’s PGA TOUR coverage of the Travelers Championship (June 25-28) – where he became the only player in PGA TOUR history to shoot a 58 back in 2016 – and will be in the booth for Golf Channel’s coverage of the TOUR Championship (August 27-30), which he won in 2010 by one stroke over Luke Donald.
This April, Furyk was named Captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup Team for the 46th Ryder Cup, which will be played in September 2027 at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland.
“I’m really excited to join the booth for the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, the Travelers Championship and the TOUR Championship this summer on USA Network and Golf Channel,” said Furyk. “I had a great time calling the Arnold Palmer Invitational and PLAYERS Championship on Golf Channel and seeing how the broadcast team brings these events to life. I look forward to building off that experience and sharing my perspective with viewers starting next week at Shinnecock.”
Furyk made his debut as an analyst for Golf Channel earlier this year at both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship. He also appeared as a studio analyst during Golf Channel’s Live From the Masters coverage in April.
Furyk’s impressive 30-plus year playing career is punctuated by his 2003 U.S. Open Championship victory at Olympia Fields. Furyk was also named the PGA TOUR Player of the Year and was the FedExCup Champion in 2010. He is also the only player in PGA TOUR history to have shot under 60 twice and the only player to have shot 58.
Furyk competed in nine consecutive Ryder Cups from 1997-2014 and has represented the U.S. in 14 consecutive editions of the Ryder Cup, serving as a player, vice captain, and captain. He also has represented the United States on seven Presidents Cup teams and captained the U.S to victory in the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal. Additionally, the West Chester, Pa., native has won three times on the PGA TOUR Champions, including the U.S. Senior Open at Omaha Country Club in 2021.
Beyond his accomplishments on the course, Furyk has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Payne Stewart Award (2016) and the Francis Ouimet Award (2018) for his contributions to the game of golf.
