Godfrey Phillips India shares fall 2.05% to Rs 2,179.20 in today’s trade.

Hindustan Aeronautics stock rises +2.45% to Rs 5,029.10 in today’s trade.

The Nifty Midcap 100 fell 0.42 percent to 63,573.30, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 declined 0.30 percent to 19,797.80. India VIX rose 0.76 percent to 11.95.

PI Industries plunged 9.89 percent to Rs 2,473.50, making it the biggest BSE Midcap loser. Fortis Healthcare fell 5.91 percent and AIA Engineering declined 5.15 percent, while Lloyds Metals dropped 4.82 percent. Deepak Nitrite and Vishal Mega Mart lost around 3.4-3.5 percent.

NALCO surged 7.77 percent to Rs 418.05, emerging as the top BSE Midcap gainer. Gujarat Fluorochemicals climbed 5.12 percent, while Bank of Maharashtra and Aarti Industries gained around 3.5-3.7 percent. BHEL and Inventurus Knowledge Solutions rose around 2.5 percent each.

SBI rose 1.21 percent to Rs 1,078.90, contributing 8.98 points to the Nifty, while Hindalco jumped 2.95 percent and added 7.57 points. Grasim, Nestle and Eicher Motors were also positive contributors.

TCS fell 4.60 percent to Rs 2,333.20 and was the biggest negative contributor to the Nifty, pulling the index down by 20.47 points. Infosys fell 2.07 percent and contributed a 14.28-point drag, while HDFC Bank and Titan Company knocked 12.30 points and 11.95 points off the index, respectively.

The Nifty PSU Bank index gained 1.57 percent, standing out in an otherwise weak market. Bank Nifty edged 0.12 percent higher, while Metal was nearly flat with a positive bias.

The Nifty IT index fell 2.22 percent, emerging as the worst-performing sectoral index. Consumer Durables declined 1.16 percent and Realty dropped 1.03 percent. FMCG fell 0.95 percent, while Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Pharma, private banks and Auto lost around 0.5-0.7 percent.

Indian benchmark indices remained under selling pressure in afternoon trade. The Sensex was down 565.13 points, or 0.72 percent, at 77,589.12, while the Nifty fell 183.10 points, or 0.75 percent, to 24,288.60. Market breadth was weak, with 1,554 shares advancing, 2,309 declining and 150 unchanged.

Man Infra reported a 28.9% YoY rise in net profit to ₹71.6 crore from ₹55.6 crore, while revenue grew 7.6% YoY to ₹218.3 crore from ₹202.9 crore. EBITDA increased 18.1% YoY to ₹71.5 crore from ₹60.6 crore, with EBITDA margin improving to 32.8% from 29.9% in the year-ago period.

The Sensex was down 580.94 points or 0.74 percent at 77,573.31, and the Nifty was down 185.95 points or 0.76 percent at 24,285.75. About 1580 shares advanced, 2276 shares declined, and 139 shares unchanged.

NIFTY BANK is trading at 57,515.85 points, showing a gain of +69.02 points (+0.12%).

Caplin Point Laboratories reported a 17.5% YoY rise in net profit to ₹179.6 crore from ₹152 crore, while revenue grew 19.6% YoY to ₹610.3 crore from ₹510 crore. EBITDA increased 20.1% YoY to ₹213.5 crore from ₹178 crore, with EBITDA margin improving marginally to 34.98% from 34.84% in the year-ago period.

AIA Engineering reported a 1.3% YoY decline in net profit to ₹301.1 crore from ₹305 crore, while revenue grew 12.4% YoY to ₹1,168 crore from ₹1,038.9 crore. EBITDA rose 0.5% YoY to ₹307.9 crore from ₹306.4 crore, while EBITDA margin declined to 26.4% from 29.5% in the year-ago period.

The frontline indices extended their decline as selling pressure intensified through the session. Nifty opened on a flat note but subsequently witnessed sustained selling, pushing the index closer to the day’s low. Heavyweight counters including TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, and Reliance Industries emerged as the key drags, contributing significantly to the overall market correction.

Among the major sectoral indices, Nifty PSU Bank is the best performing sector while Nifty IT is the worst performing sector.

Coming back to Nifty, the zone of 24160-24140 will act as a crucial support for the index while the resistance lies in the zone of 24430-24450.

On the downside, if the index slips below the level of 24140 then the next support is placed in the zone of 24020-24000.

In an event of a surge above 24450, the index can experience an extension of the rally towards 24600.

On the options front, meaningful call writing witnessed across 24300 & 24400 strikes. On the put side, 24200 has a substantial open interest, followed by 24100 strike.

Nifty’s Advance Decline Ratio is at 7:43.

Speaking of Sensex levels, support is at 77,200 while resistance is at 78,000.
