Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:20AM

KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.86%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 3.95%), MOIL Ltd.(down 3.27%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.88%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 2.03%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 1.94%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 1.63%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.53%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.92%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.89%) and Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 0.57%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 33.81 points up at 22509.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 236.08 points at 74114.23 at around 11:20AM.

Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 8.09%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 5.39%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.87%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.81%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.45%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.44%), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.36%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.34%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.19%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.82%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd.(down 6.54%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.71%), State Bank of India(down 2.59%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 2.56%), NTPC Ltd.(down 2.13%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.02%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.93%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.63%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.51%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.39%) were trading in the red.
