Investing.com– U.S. stock futures were little changed on Monday evening after Wall Street ended mostly higher, as investors returned to technology and artificial intelligence-related shares following a sharp sell-off last week, while attention shifted to a busy slate of corporate earnings.
S&P 500 Futures traded flat at 7,731.75 points, while Nasdaq 100 Futures fell 0.2% to 29,650.25 points by 20:34 ET (00:34 GMT). Dow Jones Futures edged 0.1% higher to 52,230.0 points.
In the regular session, the S&P 500 rose 0.4%, and the NASDAQ Composite gained 1.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.1%.
The rebound followed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq’s biggest weekly declines since late June, as concerns about inflation, higher interest rates and the cost of financing AI infrastructure had weighed on technology stocks.
Chipmakers led Monday’s recovery. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose about 2.5%, snapping an eight-session losing streak, while Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) gained around 1.5%, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) climbed 3.6%, and Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) added 2.4%.
AI infrastructure stocks also rebounded after suffering steep losses last week. CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) rose during the session after Goldman Sachs upgraded the data centre operator to “buy”, but shares ended slightly lower.
Investors were also looking for upcoming corporate results. General Motors (NYSE:GM) is scheduled to report on Tuesday before the market opens, while United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL) is due to report after the closing bell.
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) and Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) are due to report later this week, alongside semiconductor and technology equipment companies including Lam Research (NASDAQ:LRCX) and Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN).
Oil prices and bond yields remained key market drivers. Oil prices edged lower in Asian trading Tuesday as investors weighed the impact of President Donald Trump’s waiver of some sanctions and tariffs tied to Russian energy exports.
