In its Q3 2026 investor letter, the Renaissance Large Cap Growth Strategy noted that it exited its position in Tapestry, Inc. (NYSE:TPR). Tapestry, Inc. is an American luxury fashion holding company that designs, markets, and sells lifestyle products across its core brands—Coach and Kate Spade. On October 26, 2026, Tapestry, Inc. (NYSE:TPR) closed at $110.90 with a $22.01 billion market capitalization. Down 12.60% year-to-date, Tapestry, Inc. (NYSE:TPR) has traded within a 52-week range of $93.00 to $164.80.
Renaissance Large Cap Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Tapestry, Inc. (NYSE:TPR) in its Q3 2026 investor letter:
“We sold our position in Tapestry, Inc. (NYSE:TPR), a luxury retailer best known for luxury brands Coach and Kate Spade. From a fundamental perspective, after careful review, we see that our original investment thesis has progressed as we expected with management success fully revitalizing the Coach brand into a credible luxury contender while eliminating non-core brands, which allowed Tapestry to expand operating margins and focus on its core growth driver, Coach. However, as we look ahead, revenue growth will begin to decelerate, and operating margins have likely peaked. We also believe the revitalization efforts at Kate Spade will take longer than we originally anticipated. Consequently, despite being a good performer and a high-quality company, we believe the risk-reward is no longer advantageous with valuation multiples near all-time highs amidst a challenging macroeconomic environment.”
