Astera Labs (NASDAQ:ALAB) shares jumped more than 10% Tuesday, joining a broad rebound across AI infrastructure stocks as investors regained confidence in continued spending on data centers and advanced computing.

The rally came after a difficult stretch for the stock, which had fallen about 21% over the prior month.

Astera is different from the better-known AI chip names because it focuses on the connectivity layer inside AI systems, helping move data between GPUs, CPUs, memory and networking equipment.

That role is becoming more important as AI clusters grow larger and data movement increasingly becomes a bottleneck.

The broader AI trade also received a boost from Anthropic’s IPO filing and a $63 billion financing package tied to Broadcom hardware, which helped ease fears that capital for AI infrastructure was drying up. CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV), Nebius (NASDAQ:NBIS), Dell and other AI-linked names rallied alongside Astera.

Astera’s underlying growth has also been strong.

Second-quarter revenue reached a record $392.4 million, up 104% year over year and 27% sequentially. Management said growth was broad-based across AI fabrics and signal-conditioning products.

The company expects its Scorpio fabric switches to become its largest product family, while it is also expanding into optical interconnects, memory controllers and newer rack-scale architectures.

Earlier this month, Astera introduced Orion, a compute-agnostic rack-scale architecture designed to help customers deploy AI inference systems using multiple GPU and CPU platforms.

Investor Takeaway

I think the bigger story is that the AI rally is starting to spread beyond the obvious GPU winners.

As clusters scale, the ability to move data efficiently between processors and memory becomes increasingly important.

That gives Astera exposure to a second-order bottleneck in the AI buildout.

The opportunity is meaningful, but expectations are already high.

For investors, the key things to watch are Scorpio adoption, customer concentration, optical connectivity growth, gross margins and whether Astera can keep expanding beyond its original retimer business.

The 10% rally reflects renewed enthusiasm around AI spending.

Astera still has to prove that its connectivity platform can capture a growing share of it.
