Share Market Today Live Updates: Sensex, Nifty inch higher (File Image)
Stock Market Live: After opening on a positive note, frontline benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty eroded gains. BSE Sensex is trading 27.13 points, or 0.03 per cent lower at 73,086.94 while Nifty has inched 20.40 points, or 0.16 per cent higher at 22,246.50.
Earlier today, Sensex opened 95.62 points, or 0.13 per cent higher at 73,200.20 while Nifty inched 37.80 points, or 0.17 per cent higher at 22,255.60.
From the Sensex pack, Bharti Airtel, ITC, Reliance Industries, Power Grid, NTPC, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance were the major gainers. On the other hand, HUL, HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cement were among the laggards.
Among sectoral indices, auto, IT, metal, financial service traded in green while IT, FMCG and service sector traded in red. Nifty PSU Bank index remains top sectoral gainer after inching 142.20 points, or 1.96 per cent higher at 7,197.05.
In line with frontline indices, broader markets also participated in the rally. The Nifty Midcap 100 inched 262.35 points, or 0.53 per cent higher at 50,500.35 while Nifty Smallcap 100 inched 94.35 points, or 0.56 per cent higher at 16,464.30.
