Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.41% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.39 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.41 per cent at 25194.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 11.41 points at 23512.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 74.5 points at 77284.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Ujjivan SFB, JP Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kalyani Invst, Peria Karamalai Tea, Pilani Invest, Vardhman Hold and Zuari Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Future Supply Chain, Filatex Fashions, CMI Ltd, Bafna Pharma and We Win hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
