The stock market’s rally is getting narrow again. Here’s why.
The stock market’s rally in December has gotten pretty narrow again, like earlier this year when the main driver of equities was a few big technology stocks.
“It has to do with the new administration and policy it will bring along with it,” said Robert Pavlik, a senior portfolio manager at Dakota Wealth Management.
There’s the question of whether more tariffs will emerge or not. There’s also uncertainty around whether U.S. energy producers facing slumping prices will be willing to Drill, Baby, Drill. “That means lower oil prices,” Pavlik said.
“There are a lot of waves going on,” he told MarketWatch. “You just have to ride it out.”
