Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Indian stock market ended a largely range-bound session on a flat note on Thursday as key indices failed to sustain early momentum. Sectoral performances were mixed, with the Midcap index gaining 68 points to close at 57,126, while the Nifty Bank slipped 62 points to end at 51,171.
Auto stocks were among the notable gainers ahead of monthly sales data releases. Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra led the rally, contributing to the day’s limited upside. Adani Group stocks also saw a positive close, with Adani Ports gaining 5% to become the top gainer on the Nifty.
Meanwhile, FMCG stocks dragged the market, with Titan, Asian Paints, and Nestle emerging as the top losers on the Nifty. BPCL managed to post minor gains after securing an order worth ₹756 crore from NTPC.
In the broader market, several individual stocks saw significant movements. National Aluminium Company (NALCO) rose 1% after signing a mining lease deed to enhance its capacity to 4 million tonnes per annum. Mobikwik extended its gaining streak on the back of block deals worth ₹232 crore.
