Google (GOOGL) temporarily halts Gemini’s feature to generate AI images of people
Google owner Alphabet (NASDAQ:) said on Thursday it is temporarily halting the creation of images of people by its AI model, Gemini, with plans to introduce an improved version shortly.
“We’re already working to address recent issues with Gemini’s image generation feature,” the company said in a post on X.
“We’re going to pause the image generation of people and will re-release an improved version soon,” it added.
The tech giant launched its image generation feature through Gemini AI earlier in the month. However, recent feedback from social media users highlighted issues with the model sometimes producing incorrect historical images.
On Wednesday, the tech giant released Gemma, a group of free “open models” that allow outside developers and businesses to build AI software.
