Investment in enterprise data systems to leverage generative-AI capabilities is right up Samsara’s alley, though the company approaches the challenge from the cloud. Samsara provides sensors and cloud-based software to manage vehicle fleets and other physical operations through its Internet of Things platform.

On March 7, Samsara announced it swung to a profit of 4 cents a share in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2024. That beat Wall Street’s estimates. In the year-ago period, the company lost 2 cents a share. Revenue climbed 48% to $276.3 million, topping estimates.

“We continue to see a vast opportunity for our customers and are excited to deliver on our mission to increase the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operations that power the global economy,” said Chief Executive Sanjit Biswas in the press release.

Samsara stock boasts a strong 96 IBD Composite Rating, the fourth highest of 124 companies in the industry group, according to IBD MarketSurge. And its recent price gains make it a top AI stock to watch.

AI Stock Hits Buy Trigger

After finding support at the 200-day line in recent weeks, Samsara stock has retaken its 50-day moving average. It’s added some room above it.

Aggressive investors can use that bullish move as a buying opportunity. The April 29 high at 36.82 could be used as a buy trigger. Meanwhile, the AI stock is building a cup base with an official buy point at 40.54, according to IBD MarketSurge analysis.

Further, the relative strength line is acting well, and is nearing new highs as the stock rebounds. That’s a sign of significant stock market outperformance that could pay off well for the stock.

Another bullish signal is that the current base formation undercut the lows of the previous base. That resets the base count and makes the current base a first-stage pattern. First-stage bases are more likely to net bigger gains than later-stage formations.
