My top 10 things to watch Tuesday, April 29
1. Wall Street was headed for a muted open, with the S&P 500 on a five-session winning streak. However, with two trading sessions left, including today, the index was tracking lower for the month on the whims of Washington. In a morning news conference, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reiterated that trade deals could be coming soon and said India is very close.
2. Honeywell shares rose 4% after the Club industrial name reported a positive quarter. The results are a first step in the right direction, but I’m worried these early gains won’t hold.
3. Starbucks reports earnings Tuesday evening. Progress on CEO Brian Niccol’s turnaround efforts will be center stage, along with any updates on how the Club name will be handling its China problems.
