Nichole Millage, the legendary sitting volleyball Paralympian who lives here in Champaign-Urbana and was part of the Tokyo games last time around, has announced she’ll be an analyst for NBC as part of their coverage of the games. The Paris 2024 Paralympics kicked off yesterday with their opening ceremony. Millage, who you might recognize from her work with Feed the Thing (and is instrumental in events like this one), is a retired Paralympian, having competed in sitting volleyball in Beijing 2008 (silver), London 2012 (silver), Rio de Janeiro 2016 (gold), and Tokyo 2021 (gold).
The Paris Paralympic games run from August 28th through September 8th, the second largest sporting event behind the Olympics, hosting 22 sports in the summer Paralympics and six sports in the Winter games.
Here’s some more information about when you’ll be able to catch the sitting volleyball games, which Millage will be an analyst for:
