China’s onshore yuan rises to its strongest in nearly 16 months
China’s yuan opened at the strongest level in roughly 16 months on Friday, bolstered by expectations of fresh government stimulus, following the U.S. Federal Reserve’s jumbo rate cut.
It opened at 7.06 per dollar, the strongest since June 2, 2023, extending Thursday’s gains amid signs of increasing corporate demand for the Chinese currency.
