A small bullish candle was formed on the daily chart with a long upper shadow. Technically, this pattern indicates an inability of bulls to sustain the upside bounce. Though the market declined in the last couple of sessions, the sharp downside momentum was absent. This market action could bring some hope for bulls to make a comeback from the lows.
The underlying trend of Nifty remains choppy with weak bias. The market is moving in a broader high low range of 24,600-23,800 levels. Having declined from the upper range recently, Nifty is expected to witness an upside bounce from near the lower range of 23,800 levels in the short term. Immediate resistance to be watched around 24,300, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.
In the open interest (OI) data, the highest OI on the call side was observed at 24,300 and 24,200 strike prices, while on the put side, the highest OI was at 24,000 strike price followed by 24,100.

NMDC announces 2:1 bonus issue as Q2 profit rises 23% YoY to Rs 1269 cr
The Board of NMDC has approved a bonus issue of equity shares in the proportion of 2:1, which means for every one share investors hold in the company, they will get two additional shares.
“The Board declared issuance of bonus shares to the shareholders of the company in the ratio of 2:1, i.e. 2 (two) bonus equity shares of face value Rs 1 each fully paid up; for every 1 (One) existing equity share,” the company said in a filing.
The record date for the bonus issue will be intimated in due course.

Driven by a robust demand from retail investors, the initial public offer (IPO) of Niva Bupa Healthcare sailed through on Monday, the last day of the bidding process, being subscribed by 1.8 times.
Retail participants had bid for 8,56,92,200 shares from the 3,14,28,571 reserved for them, subscribing to the issue by 2.73 times. This was followed by the qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), who had subscribed to the issue by 2.06 times.
Meanwhile, non-institutional investors (NIIs) subscribed to the issue by 68%.
National Fertilizers Ltd Q2 Results: Company posts Rs 12 crore profit
State-owned National Fertilizers Ltd on Monday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 12.07 crore in the September 2024 quarter. The company posted a net loss of Rs 87.10 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income declined to Rs 4,404.40 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 5,691.20 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal, according to a regulatory filing.
National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) is one of the leading fertiliser companies in the country.
NFL has five gas-based ammonia-urea plants — Nangal and Bathinda plants in Punjab, the Panipat plant in Haryana and two plants at Vijaipur in Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

Godfrey Phillips India Q2 Results: Net profit up 23% at Rs 248.31 crore
Cigarette maker Godfrey Phillips India Ltd on Monday reported a 23 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 248.31 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2024, fuelled by higher sales. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 202.06 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (GPIL) said in a regulatory filing.
Consolidated total revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,651.42 crore in the quarter under review compared to Rs 1,374.55 crore in the year-ago period.
Total expenses in the second quarter were higher at Rs 1,415.89 crore against Rs 1,194.03 crore a year ago.
Shree Cement Q2 results: Profit falls 83% YoY to Rs 76 crore
Shree Cement Ltd on Monday reported 83% fall in its consolidated net profit at Rs 76 crore in the second quarter. The same stood at Rs 447 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue from operations in the reporting period declined 15% YoY to Rs 4054 crore.
Borosil Renewables Q2 Results: Company reports Rs 13 crore loss
Borosil Renewables Ltd on Monday reported a Rs 13.12 crore consolidated loss for the September 2024 quarter. It had posted Rs 30.47 crore profit for the quarter ended September 2023, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company’s total income fell to Rs 378.25 crore from Rs 406.31 crore in the second quarter last fiscal.
