Investors looking to gauge sentiment ahead of the resumption of normal stock market activity after Thanksgiving were experiencing issues on Friday with trading halted in U.S. index futures and other contracts.

Technical issues have disrupted CME Group, the exchange that hosts trading in futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500, and Nasdaq-100. These contracts are the main method for investors to express sentiment on the indexes ahead of the U.S. market open.

“Due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centers, our markets are currently halted,” CME Group said in a brief statement on its website. “Support is working to resolve the issue in the near term and will advise clients of Pre-Open details as soon as they are available.”
