Sensex, Nifty open with minor cuts (File Image)
Stock Market Today Live Updates: Indian benchmark indices opened this week’s trading session with minor cuts. BSE Sensex opened 179.50 points, or 0.25 per cent lower at 72,652.40 while Nifty 50 inched 52.60 or 0.24 per cent lower at 22,044.20.
The Indian rupee opened stronger against the US dollar on Tuesday, March 26. Rupee opened today’s trade at 83.34/$ vs Friday’s close of 83.43/$.
International crude oil prices extended upward on expectations of tighter supply. Brent crude oil futures gained 0.02 points, or 0.02 per cent at 86.77 while US WTI inched 0.01 points, or 0.01 per cent at 81.96.
Asian markets remained largely in red territory except for Japan’s Nikkei, which is trading at record levels. Nikkei 225 has advanced 4.67 points, or 0.01 per cent at 40,414.78.

US benchmark indices ended on a lower note on Monday. Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) slipped 0.41 per cent to 39,313.64 while S&P500 dipped 0.31 per cent to 5,218.19. NASDAQ ended day’s trade lower at 16,384.47.
