Stock Market LIVE Updates: GIFT Nifty signals higher open for India markets; Asian peers climb

Stock Market LIVE Updates Today, Monday, June 9, 2025: Indian stock markets were trading higher on Monday, tracking positive global cues, ahead of the US and China trade talks, which are scheduled to be held in London today. The BSE Sensex index, today, was quoting at 82,543, higher by 354 points or 0.43 per cent, while the Nifty50 was at 25,096, up 93 points or 0.37 per cent.  Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Jio Financial Services, Shriram Finance, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, HCL Tech, and Tech M were the top gainers on the Nifty index today, rising up to 2 per cent.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap indices were at trading 0.87 per cent and 1.1 per cent higher, respectively. 

  Among sectors, the Nifty Bank index hit a record high today, up 0.5 per cent. The index surpassed the 57,000-mark to hit an all-time high of 57,049.50.  That apart, the Nifty PSU Bank index was up 1 per cent, the Nifty IT, and Auto 0.8 per cent each, and the Nifty Private Bank index 0.5 per cent.

Buzzing Stocks

MCX share price was up 2.8 per cent after it received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to launch electricity derivatives. IEX shares, too, were up 3.7 per cent.  Suzlon Energy share price was trading over 1 per cent higher after 94.4 million shares changed hands on the counter in a block deal.

IPOs Today

In the IPO market, the allotment of Ganga Bath Fittings IPO will be finalised today. Besides, Sacheerome IPO (SME) will open for subscription today.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: BSE share price extended its gaining streak on the NSE on Monday, surpassing the crucial ₹3,000-mark on the exchange. BSE stock was up over 2.5 per cent on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today, hitting a record high of ₹3,024.9 per share.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Share price of Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) will be in focus today as the company, along with its international subsidiaries, has secured new orders / notification of awards worth ₹3,789 crore.

Kalpataru Projects has won 1) orders in the Buildings and Factories (B&F) business in India, which includes the company’s largest B&F order secured till date for development of over 12 million square feet of residential buildings along with associated facilities on design built basis, and 2) orders in the Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) in overseas market.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Suzlon Energy shares will be in focus today amid a large block of trade. As per reports, roughly 94.4 million shares have changed hands on the Suzlon counter in the ‘Block deal’ window at a price of ₹66.05 per share.

The value of the block deal is around ₹624 crore.
