For the week (June 3 – June 7), both the Sensex and the Nifty posted gains of nearly 4%. The broader markets, after experiencing a sharp drop on Tuesday, rebounded strongly. However, the Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices ended the week with losses of over 3% each. Gains were led by stocks in the Auto, IT, and FMCG sectors.
