Global Markets | Wall Street ends lower amid rate concerns, higher bond yields
US stocks fell on Wednesday amid further gains in Treasury yields and concern over the timing and scale of possible interest rate cuts from the Federal Reserve.
The Dow fell more than 1% and hit its lowest level in nearly a month. All of the S&P 500 sectors ended lower as well, with rate-sensitive utilities among sectors with the biggest declines.
The S&P 500 lost 39.09 points, or 0.74%, to 5,266.95 while the Nasdaq Composite lost 99.30 points, or 0.58%, to 16,920.58. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 411.32 points, or 1.06%, to 38,441.54.

Global Markets | Asian markets trade lower; Nikkei down nearly 2%
Asian markets extended losses on Thursday, tracking Wall Street’s moves ahead of a slew of economic data from the region on Friday.
Japan’s Nikkei down nearly2%, while the broader Topix dropped 1.4% in early trading. South Korea’s Kospi shed nearly 1%.

Market on Wednesday:
The Indian equity market continued their losing streak for the fourth consecutive session on May 29 with Nifty at 22,700 amid selling seen in the oil & gas, IT, realty, and banking names.
At close, the Sensex was down 667.55 points or 0.89 percent at 74,502.90, and the Nifty was down 183.50 points or 0.80 percent at 22,704.70.
On the back of mixed global cues, the market opened on a negative note and extended the losses as the day progressed, with Sensex and Nifty falling below 74,500 and 22,700, respectively.
Biggest Nifty losers included HDFC Life, SBI Life Insurance, ICICI Bank, Tata Consumer Products and Tech Mahindra, while gainers were Hindalco, Power Grid Corp, Divis Labs, Nestle and Sun Pharma.
A mixed trend was seen on the sectoral front, with capital goods, telecom, healthcare, metal, power ending in the green, while auto, bank, FMCG, IT, oil & gas, and realty were down 0.3-1 percent.
The BSE midcap index was down 0.4 percent while the smallcap index was up 0.2 percent.
