Stock Market Today Live Updates: In line with global cues, Indian equity markets opened lower on Tuesday (April 16). BSE Sensex opened 507.64 or 0.69 per cent lower at 72,892.10 while Nifty inched 147.27 or 0.66 per cent lower at 22,125.30.
Jio Financial Services saw heavy buying in today’s session after it announced a new JV deal. Shares of Jio Financial Services rose as much as 5 per cent after the Reliance group company entered into a new joint venture with BlackRock to set up a wealth management and broking business in India.
Asian stocks fell and the dollar climbed to more than five-month highs as stronger-than-expected U.S. retail sales for March further reinforced expectations of Fed rate cuts this year. However, sustained geopolitical tensions in West Asia kept risk sentiment in check.

International crude oil price rise after Israel weighs response against Iranian attack last Saturday. Brent oil futures gained 0.52 per cent at $90.57 a barrel while WTI price 0.56 per cent at $85.89 a barrel.
The three US indices ended the previous session in red. 30-share Dow futures slipped 0.65 per cent at 37,735.11 while NASDAQ inched 1.79 per cent lower at 15,885.02.
