NEW YORK- For the ninth straight day on Friday, Wall Street saw stocks climb with the S&P rising 1.5 percent to close with its longest streak of daily gains since 2004. Similar increases have been seen in the Dow industrials as well as the Nasdaq Composite over the same short-term.
On Friday, the The Wall Street Journal reported that China is considering alternatives to address President Trump’s concerns over its role in the fentanyl trade. Trump has pointed to the importation of fentanyl as one of the primary reasons he instituted tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico.
The Department of Labor’s job report also sparked confidence in the market. Data released indicates that last month, unemployment held steady at just over four percent and around 177,000 jobs were added nationwide last month.
