Southwest Airlines Co.’s stock jumped 2.4% in premarket trade Thursday, after it became the latest airline to boost guidance for the fourth quarter, as travel demand remains resilient and it benefits from efficiency measures.

On Wednesday, JetBlue Airways Corp. raised its guidance, citing better-than-expected demand for travel in November and December.

Southwest is now expecting unit revenues to rise 5.5% to 7.0% in the quarter, up from prior guidance for a rise of 3.5% to 5.5%. Capacity, as measured by available seat miles, is still expected to be down about 4%.

Shares of MicroStrategy, the biggest corporate holder of bitcoin, are jumping nearly 6% after the crypto currency broke above $100k for the first time.

Shares of Coinbase Global, the crypto-trading platform, are up 3% as dealing activity is expected to boom.

Five Below stock is surging nearly 14% after the teen-centric discount chain raised its full-year outlook, citing an “encouraging” Black Friday weekend.

nCino shares are tumbling 19% after the cloud-based banking platform’s total revenue guidance for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2025 missed analyst expectations.

Synopsys shares are falling nearly 8% after the provider of electronic design automation software posted an outlook that were below analysts’ estimates.

SentinelOne stock is dropping 15% after the cybersecurity company said its third-quart revenue rose 28% but its quarterly loss widened on higher operating expenses.

On Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 309 points, or 0.69%, to 45,014, the S&P 500 increased 37 points, or 0.61%, to 6,086, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 254 points, or 1.3%, to 19,735.

Futures indicate Wall Street stocks will open near record highs as investor optimism over the U.S. economy, AI plays, Federal Reserve rate cuts and the incoming Trump administration, all combine to extend the bull run.

The S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average all closed the previous day at fresh peaks, with the Dow finishing above 45k for the first time and the S&P 500 registering its 56th record of the year having climbed 27.6% in 2024.

Analysts noted that the stock market also was likely benefiting from seasonal tailwinds, with December usually a positive month. “The U.S. holiday rally is off to a sparkling start,” said Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown.
