NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Tuesday’s session.
The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 3.91%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 3.64%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 1.78%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 1.51%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.24%) stood among the top gainers.
Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.88%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 2.24%), MOIL Ltd.(down 2.03%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.15%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.64%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.53%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.38%), NMDC Ltd.(down 0.20%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.17%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 38.56 points down at 22604.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 188.5 points at 74482.78.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 4.58%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.78%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.39%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.92%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.92%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.64%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.49%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.43%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.22%) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.93%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.86%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.52%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.5%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.48%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.44%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.29%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.29%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.11%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.01%) closed in the red.
