Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:04AM

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 1.09%) and Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.84%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 2.71%), NMDC Ltd.(down 2.59%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 2.56%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 2.39%), MOIL Ltd.(down 1.99%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 1.97%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.54%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 1.36%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 1.21%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 11.86 points up at 24730.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 27.15 points at 81145.75 at around 10:04AM.

Cipla Ltd.(up 1.87%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.39%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.84%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 0.67%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.64%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.6%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.55%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.53%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.48%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 0.45%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 5.3%), Jio Financial Services Ltd.(down 1.79%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.35%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.97%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.89%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.7%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.68%), State Bank of India(down 0.64%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.59%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.56%) were trading in the red.
