Stock market update: Mining stocks mixed as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading mixed on Friday at 11:20AM

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.74%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.62%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.97%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.86%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.84%), NMDC Ltd.(up 0.14%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers.

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 2.88%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.60%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 1.02%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.64%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.53%) and MOIL Ltd.(down 0.27%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 70.11 points down at 24232.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 354.73 points at 79694.94 at around 11:20AM.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.5%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.16%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.8%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.46%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.44%), State Bank of India(up 1.05%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.05%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.97%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.93%) and JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.93%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 4.4%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.13%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.87%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.74%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.72%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.67%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.6%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.53%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.38%) and Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 0.23%) were trading in the red.
