NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Tuesday’s session.
Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 5.43%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 5.00%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 2.04%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 1.70%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.69%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.62%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 0.59%) stood among the top gainers.
KIOCL Ltd.(down 3.92%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 3.69%), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.15%), NMDC Ltd.(down 2.18%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.70%), MOIL Ltd.(down 0.43%) and Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.12%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 74.71 points up at 22196.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 349.24 points at 73057.4.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 4.18%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.63%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.42%), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.06%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.8%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.66%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.39%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.1%) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 3.9%), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.15%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.53%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.92%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.79%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.28%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.07%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.93%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.86%) and ITC Ltd.(down 0.77%) closed in the red.
