Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:49AM

MOIL Ltd.(up 7.94%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 5.95%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.93%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 2.93%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.04%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.98%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.70%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.30%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.18%) were among the top gainers.

Pokarna Ltd.(down 1.53%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 1.15%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.13%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.62%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.16%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 52.36 points up at 22456.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 207.56 points at 73871.28 at around 10:49AM.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 5.97%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.37%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.03%), State Bank of India(up 1.02%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.0%), ITC Ltd.(up 0.91%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.87%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.83%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.77%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.67%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.15%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.02%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.0%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.98%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.83%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.83%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.83%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.8%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 0.79%) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.73%) were trading in the red.
