Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:29AM

KIOCL Ltd.(up 11.44%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 3.67%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.90%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.40%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.33%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.82%), NMDC Ltd.(up 0.82%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.58%), MOIL Ltd.(up 0.41%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.46%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.39%) and 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.32%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 63.85 points up at 23386.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 217.33 points at 76823.9 at around 10:29AM.

Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.01%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.7%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.8%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.6%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 1.47%), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.41%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.35%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.28%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.03%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.96%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.43%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.24%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.75%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.68%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.61%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.56%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.56%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 0.52%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.48%) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.41%) were trading in the red.
