Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:50AM

KIOCL Ltd.(up 10.32%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 3.53%), NMDC Ltd.(up 2.59%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 2.43%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 1.95%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.90%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 1.77%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.56%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.52%) and MOIL Ltd.(up 1.11%) were among the top gainers.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 142.06 points up at 24720.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 383.35 points at 81531.57 at around 10:50AM.

Tata Steel Ltd.(up 4.4%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.45%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.12%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.0%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 1.94%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.9%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.63%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.41%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.34%) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.32%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.72%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.37%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.69%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.5%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.46%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.26%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.16%) were trading in the red.
