Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 11:10AM

Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(up 6.02%), India Power Corporation Ltd.(up 2.43%), Neueon Towers Ltd.(up 1.23%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 0.84%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 0.60%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 0.28%) and Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

KEC International Ltd.(down 4.19%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 3.17%), Adani Power Ltd.(down 3.14%), JSW Energy Ltd.(down 2.62%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 2.62%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(down 2.48%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 2.23%), PTC India Ltd.(down 2.02%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 2.02%) and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 2.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 68.81 points down at 23489.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 86.82 points at 77214.32 at around 11:10AM.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.29%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.84%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.35%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.15%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.89%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.23%) and State Bank of India(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd.(down 3.13%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 2.11%), Coal India Ltd.(down 2.1%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.97%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.86%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.83%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.68%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.53%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.5%) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.49%) were trading in the red.
