Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching as the S & P 500 posted back-to-back losses, and what’s on the radar for the next session. Data S & P/Case-Shiller housing data will come out Tuesday morning. The “Squawk on the Street” team will be on the case. Real estate is the worst performing S & P sector of 2025, up about 0.5%. Only seven of the stocks in the sector are up this year. Welltower is at the top, followed by Ventas and CBRE . Alexandria Real Estate , Iron Mountain (a data center stock) and Healthpeak are at the bottom of the pile. The full details will be on “Power Lunch” with Brian Sullivan. Going into the news, the 10-year U.S. Treasury note is yielding 4.11%. The two-year note yields at 3.45%. The one-year Treasury bill is yielding 3.48%. The six-month T-bill yield is 3.59%. The three-month T-bill yield is 3.63%. The one-month T-bill yield is at about 3.61%. Retail returns CNBC TV’s Courtney Reagan covers retail and will show us the trends as people re-size and return after Christmas. In the past month, Kohl’s has lost 15%. Best Buy has fallen 14% in the period. Macy’s and Tanger are near the flatline in the past month. In the past month, Five Below has gained roughly 15%. Tapestry has surged around 20% in the past month. American Eagle has climbed 32% in the past month. AEO 1M mountain American Eagle Outfitters in the past month AI orders CNBC TV’s Kate Rogers will report on which big restaurant chains are best tapping into artificial intelligence to improve at the drive-in line and beyond. Investors have not had a big appetite for these stocks in 2025. Brinker International is up 8% in 2025. The company owns Chili’s and Maggiano’s Little Italy. Dine Brands is up almost 8% year to date. The company owns Applebee’s and IHOP. Cheesecake Factory is up 7% this year. One the other side of the menu, Sweetgreen is down 79% in 2025. Jack in the Box is down 53% this year. Wendy’s is down 49% year to date. Lasers Elbit Systems and the Israeli government-run Rafael just delivered their first “Iron Beam” to Israel’s defense forces after extensive and successful tests. It is an add-on to missile defense that uses lasers rather than projectiles to shoot down drones, mortars and short-range rockets. Elbit is hoping the technology will open up new markets outside of Israel. Elbit, which trades in the U.S. under the ticker ESLT, is 3% off the 52-week high hit last week. Shares have more than doubled in the last year.
