Stock Futures Rising as Focus Turns From South Korea to Fed Rate Cuts
U.S. stock futures were rising early Wednesday. Political tumult in South Korea appeared to be largely contained, with traders set to focus instead on the prospects for further rate cuts from the Federal Reserve.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 188 points, or 0.4%. S&P 500 futures gained 0.2% and Nasdaq 100 futures were rising 0.5%. The S&P and Nasdaq Composite both hit new highs on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index fell 1.4% as traders continued to digest political instability in the country.
