The Morning Bull – US Market Morning Update Monday, Apr, 6 2026

US stock futures are pointing higher this morning, with E mini S&P 500 contracts up about 0.7% and Nasdaq 100 futures up just over 1%, as investors weigh a mix of strong jobs data and signs of cooling inflation. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 178,000 in March while unemployment sits at 4.3% and wage growth is 3.5% year on year, suggesting more people are working but pay pressures are easing. At the same time, the US Services PMI has slipped into contraction at 49.8, hinting that parts of the economy are losing steam. The big question now is whether this combination of steady hiring, softer wage growth and weaker services activity helps or hurts interest rate sensitive areas such as banks, real estate and growth focused tech stocks.

With rate sensitive sectors back in focus, zero in on 67 resilient stocks with low risk scores before the next data release.
