Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:29AM

Adani Power Ltd.(up 5.82%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(up 4.59%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 2.36%), Torrent Power Ltd.(up 1.67%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 1.66%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 1.53%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 1.30%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(up 0.88%), KEC International Ltd.(up 0.29%) and Inox Wind Ltd.(up 0.02%) were among the top gainers.

KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 3.84%), JSW Energy Ltd.(down 3.29%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 2.92%), GE T&D India Ltd.(down 2.83%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 2.46%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 2.27%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 2.12%), NHPC Ltd.(down 2.08%), PTC India Ltd.(down 2.02%) and NLC India Ltd.(down 2.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 150.25 points down at 22152.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 539.31 points at 72927.08 at around 10:29AM.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 5.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.09%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.9%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.1%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.79%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.46%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.31%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.11%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.11%) and Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 4.29%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.45%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.98%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.83%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.67%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.66%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.58%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.56%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.47%) and Wipro Ltd.(down 1.37%) were trading in the red.
