Chinese stocks slumped in the third quarter, with the blue-chip CSI 300 index entering a bear market in October as a selloff in artificial intelligence stocks sparked a sharp reversal from initial gain in local markets.
Weak retail trading volumes, amid a broader decline in consumer spending and investment, also weighed.
Net fee income from brokerage business rose 34.65% year-on-year to 14.73 billion yuan in the first nine months of the year. Asset management rose 24.86%.
