Hong Kong Shares Close Lower as Markets Await China Meeting

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index closed 0.5% lower at 20311.28, erasing earlier gains after a heavily traded session.
Markets await further clues on China’s growth target for next year from the annual Central Economic Work Conference this week, though the actual targets won’t be announced until the NPC meeting next year, the UOB Global Economics & Markets Research team said in a note.
Xinyi Solar fell 5.0%, Longfor Group lost 4.2% and Wuxi Biologics was 3.9% lower. Meanwhile, Sands China rose 2.4%, while WH Group and AIA Group each gained 1.9%.
