Share Market Live Updates: Sensex and Nifty set for a weaker opening
Stock Market Today Live Updates: Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened with minor gains on Monday, March 11. However, tracing the global cues, it soon slipped into the negative territory. GIFT Nifty continues to trade 0.56 per cent lower at 22,576.50.
Asian indices slipped with Nikkei falling for the first time below the 40,000 mark since February 2021. The Japanese index is trading 984.84 points, or 2.48 per cent lower at 38,704.10 while South Korea’s Kospi slipped 0.39 per cent to trade 2,670.35. This comes after Japan has averted a technical recession after revised GDP numbers showed that the economy expanded by 0.4 per cent.
International crude oil prices also continue to trade just over $80 mark as China demand worries grew. US WTI is trading at $79.98 a barrel while Brent is trading 0.60 per cent lower at 81.59.
