Share Market Live Updates: Nifty opens near record high (File Image)
Stock Market Live: Indian benchmark indices opened higher on Thursday (May 3) on cues from global markets. Sensex opened 406.71 points, or 0.55 per cent higher at 75,017.80 while Nifty inched 118.10 or 0.52 per cent higher at 22,766.30.
India’s GIFT Nifty is trading at 113.50 points, or 22,897.00 higher at the time of opening bell. The blue-chip indexes closed higher in the previous session, as the market digested a less-hawkish US Federal Reserve stance and easing oil prices. The Brent crude oil price is trading below $85 a barrel mark.
The crude oil, however, has witnessed a minor elevation in its prices in the last two session. Brent crude oil is trading 0.31 per cent higher at 83.93 a barrel while WTI oil price is 0.33 per cent up at 79.21 a barrel.
Easing tensions in the West Asia between Israel and Iran, positive domestic earnings prints have fuelled optimism and buying interest among traders, said Vishnu Kant Upadhyay, assistant vice president of research at Advisory at Master Capital Services, as reported by Reuters.

US indices inched higher on Thursday on the back of tech stocks led by Apple, which announced largest ever share buyback. The buyback will cost the iPhone maker around $110 billion. Tech-heavy NASDAQ record biggest jump at 235.48 points, or 1.51 per cent higher at 15,840.95 while Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) inched 322.37 points, or 0.85 per cent higher at 38,225.66. S&P 500 added 0.91 per cent higher at 5,064.20.
