Stocks opened at record levels on Thursday as Wall Street continued to disregard the government shutdown.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 90 points, or 0.2%. The S&P 500 was up 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.5%. The Dow and S&P only need to close higher to hit fresh closing highs. The Nasdaq Composite was on track to top its Sept. 22 record of 22,788.98.
The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was up to 3.58%. The 10-year yield was up to 4.12%.
