Intel (INTC) shares surged following a report CEO Lip-Bu Tan is visiting the White House after President Trump called for his resignation last week.

Tesla (TSLA) shares also advanced, extending gains Friday. The electric vehicle and battery manufacturer applied to British regulators to supply power to U.K. residents and businesses.

Shares of cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase Global (COIN) and other crypto-related companies moved higher, along with the price of Bitcoin, which traded around its all-time high.  

Hershey (HSY) shares tumbled as cocoa prices jumped amid concerns about forecasts of weaker crops in West Africa.

Shares of C3.ai (AI) plunged after the artificial intelligence software provider reported weak preliminary financial results, which CEO Thomas Siebel called “completely unacceptable.” 

Oil futures climbed, while gold prices slumped. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note was lower. The U.S. dollar gained on the euro, pound, and yen.
