WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Trump pointed the finger at Democrats for a plunge in the stock market on Truth Social, saying the market “suffered” because of the midterm results following Tuesday. Trump told his followers, “Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats.”

Trump added in his post, “It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before,” writing, “Your 401(k)s have, therefore, dropped.”

The Nasdaq saw the steepest drop, falling by 5.5% to its lowest point on the market since April. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 4.3% and 3.4%, respectively, with the former index falling to a four-month low.

Trump made a follow-up post Thursday evening, placing the blame on Democrats again and saying, “So sad to see, you only have yourselves to blame.”

Trump’s estimated net worth has dropped $54 million Thursday as shares of Trump Media & Technology Group tanked over 10% to an all-time low. The president’s fortune has dropped over $200 million since Election Day.

The president once again posted to social media, reinforcing the idea that Tuesday’s GOP losses were not connected to him, writing in another follow-up post, “I JUST WASN’T ON THE BALLOT. IF I WERE, WE WOULD HAVE WON IN A LANDSLIDE! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
